The MSc in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy will give you the knowledge and skills you need to pursue your career in advanced clinical pharmacy practice. It will build on your understanding of the fundamental principles of the field and help you apply them in real-world settings.

Why study this course?

This hugely flexible and fully online course is taught by a department with more than 20 years' experience delivering postgraduate pharmacy education. Our practice-based units ensure you'll gain the knowledge you need to deliver both improvements in patient care and population health, as well as the leadership skills to empower your clinical colleagues in their work. Upon graduation, you鈥檒l be ready to take on more advanced and specialist roles in pharmacy.

This course will enable you to:

• develop advanced, patient-centred communication skills
• intervene effectively to optimise patient care and safety
• build competence as a reflective, resilient, and continually developing practitioner
• apply continuous improvement and contribute to the evidence base for effective pharmacy practice
• explore advanced clinical topics using robust research methods
• gain targeted expertise in specific applied areas of clinical pharmacy (based on option choices)

This MSc is 3-years in duration, part-time and requires you to be in a pharmacy practice role that gives you access to patients in the clinical domain. You will need to be a registered/licensed pharmacist in your country of practice for the duration of the MSc.

Online activities may include bespoke online courses, interactive forums, webinars, recorded lectures or presentations, tutorial sessions, and live interactive sessions.

The remainder of your time outside these structured activities will be spent in independent learning which includes practice-based learning, individual research, reading journal articles and books, working on projects, preparing coursework assignments, presentations, or revising content. You may be expected to work on your own and as part of a group.

Online learning

This is a fully online course, allowing you to study in your country setting and continue in your pharmacy practice role. All our courses are created to meet workforce development needs and are closely linked to relevant professional frameworks.

You should expect to spend approximately 13 to 15 hours a week studying on your course. These hours consist of structured activities, practice-based learning and independent study. You can expect to spend between 4 to 9 hours engaged in structured learning activities per week, of which the majority will be through online learning activities.

Learning support

In addition to online library resources (e.g. books, journals), you will have access to a comprehensive suite of resources through the online learning platform (Virtual Learning Environment), allowing you to explore, create, and share learning in a collaborative workspace context.

Application process

Please note that all elements of the application must be submitted on time for you to be considered for a place on the course. If the demand for places is greater than the number of places available, then the admissions panel will review applications following agreed selection criteria. The following documents should be included in your application:

• undergraduate degree certificate
• licence or registration certificate from a professional or regulatory body confirming your professional registration
• if your first language is not English, then details of your IELTS test performance, where applicable
• we require two references to support your application. Please ensure that the names and contact details of your referees are provided in the relevant section of the Online Application Form. Referees will be sent a university-generated reference form to complete. The email address provided for each referee must belong to a named individual and should preferably be a professional or organisational email address. Generic email addresses (e.g. enquiries@pharmacy.co.uk) will not be accepted.

Registering for this course won't qualify you for a visa, and completion will not enable GPhC registration or UK practice.

Fees and funding

Fees are charged on an annual basis over the course of the part-time 3-year MSc duration. Please note that tuition fees are liable to increase annually for all 麻豆传媒 students.

In order to study on the MSc Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy course, you must:

• hold a professional degree in pharmacy (equivalent to the UK Master of Pharmacy degree)
• be a registered pharmacist in your country of practice
• be currently employed as a pharmacist, delivering patient-facing care

English language requirements

• IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in all components
• The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): 62 with no less than 59 in any element
• TOEFL IBT: 90 overall with a minimum 21 in all 4 components

You will need to get your English language qualification within 24 months prior to starting your course.
