Our employability experts

We have teams of Employability experts, based centrally within Professional Services and embedded within the Faculties/School, to ensure all students have access to a wide range of employability support and expertise.

My Employability Profile

Accessible by all students, including undergraduates, postgraduate taught students, remote learners and students on placement, this online dashboard will sit alongside MyFuture (our Careers platform) and My Academic Success (our skills platform) and support you to access the information, resources, and events you need to build a comprehensive employability profile that employers will recognise and value.

It will help you articulate and demonstrate the skills you have developed in 13 key employability capabilities, identifying gaps you may have and suggesting resources to fill those gaps.

You can add to your dashboard at any time, and progress at your own pace. There is no deadline or limit on what you can submit to build your profile.

Bath Insights internships

Finding work experience can be a real challenge for students in years one and two as organisations often ask for prior experience and skills they may not have had a chance to develop. Bath Insights gives students in their first or second year the opportunity to gain work experience in a safe, supportive environment through working as an intern in one of a variety of departments on the university campus.

I have been a host department for the Bath Insights Internship Programme since its inception and I can highly recommend this initiative.

We asked managers who hosted a Bath Insights intern in summer 2026 whether they would recommend the programme to colleagues. Here's what they said.

I thoroughly recommend the internship programme to colleagues. The ideas, creativity, fresh perspective and dedicated time an intern can bring are invaluable.

For The SU, the single most important thing an intern could bring was the student perspective itself.

When I arrived at Bath for my MSc, I hoped to earn a great degree and gain a few skills. Those skills became one of the most valuable parts of my time here.

This summer, we hosted Natalie, a Physics student, as a Bath Insights Intern within the Careers Service.
