From mid-July and throughout August and September you may experience disruption when travelling to campus by car or bus, so please plan ahead. We will continue to update this page as we receive more information.

Car parks on campus

The East Extension and East Overflow car parks will be closed permanently for works on the R7 construction project from Friday 21 August. These are shown in yellow on square 3E on this map.

From July to the end of August we have essential works in Car Park G and around the Sports Training Village. Car Park G will be closed between Monday 10 August and Friday 18 September 2026, and there will be temporary access and traffic control measures in the vicinity.

And in the South Car Park:

  • 10 to 23 August: half of A car park will be closed (the side closest to Convocation Avenue)
  • 24 to 28 August: the other half of A car park will be closed
  • 27 to 31 August: half of B car park will be closed (the side closest to A car park)
  • 31 August to 14 September: the other half of B car park will be closed
  • 14 September to 16 September: some spaces in South Car Park will be coned off.

In addition, the whole South Car Park will be closed from the evening of Tuesday 8 September, overnight until 9am on Wednesday 9 September.

Automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR)

We are installing automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR) cameras to all of our car parks on the Claverton Down campus in August. Please be reminded that if you park without a valid permit or 'Pay to Park' via JustPark you will receive a parking charge notice.

We continue to encourage everyone who drives to campus to consider other more sustainable and healthy alternatives.

The Avenue, North Road and Bathwick Hill

Bath & North East Somerset Council's works on have been paused as they discovered unidentified underground utility services in critical locations. The road reopened on Thursday 3 September and buses resumed their usual routes and stops (see below).

Bus diversions and temporary bus stop on campus

Since Thursday 3 September the U1, U1N, and U3 First buses have resumed their usual routes along Bathwick Hill, and the diversion along North Road has ended.

Buses have returned to using the bus stops in Arrivals Square for drop off and pick up.
