Emad Ajourloo Careers Consultant
Careers Consultant working with the School of Management and the lead for our international students and global talent pool.
Role
I am the Careers Consultant for the School of Management, as well as the lead for our International Students and Global Talent Pool.
We can talk about all things Careers, whether you want to explore your career options, discuss a specific path, or are feeling completely unsure about where to start. Together, we can map out your goals, conduct practice interviews, and master the techniques that will make you stand out.
If you are an international student, we can dive into your options and build the best employment plan for your specific journey. I am incredibly passionate about helping you recognise your unique skills and how to articulate them with confidence and evidence.
Career
My own career path wasn't a straight line! I originally chose to do my bachelor’s degree in the UK simply because it took three years instead of four. However, a friend randomly dragged me along to a placement talk, and I ended up pursuing an HR placement—ironically turning my degree into a four-year one anyway!
At the time, I didn't have a clear picture of my future. I just knew I loved working with people. That HR placement taught me what I didn't want to do, but it gave me invaluable clarity on UK work culture. More importantly, it introduced me to the university's Careers Consultants. I fell in love with what they did, and that career path stayed in the back of my mind.
After graduating, I worked in the recruitment industry, where I learned the ins and outs of the hiring world from the employer's perspective. Ready to transition into my dream field, I completed a coaching qualification with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and began my career in higher education. Before joining the Â鶹´«Ã½, I served as the Careers Consultant for the Faculty of Business and Law at Coventry University and for Art and Creative students at Anglia Ruskin University.
Today, I am thrilled to be at Bath. This role perfectly brings together two groups of students I hold closest to my heart: Business and Management and International students.
