We’re seeking a proactive and technically skilled Building Services Engineer (Electrical) to join our Campus Infrastructure team. In this key role, you’ll support the Head of Engineering Services in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of electrical systems across our diverse estate. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Manage the operation and maintenance of electrical systems including HV and LV networks, lifts, fire alarms, lighting, and air conditioning 
  • Provide expert technical support to in-house teams and contractors 
  • Lead the development and delivery of planned maintenance and compliance strategies 
  • Oversee electrical installation and maintenance projects from design to handover 
  • Contribute to long-term maintenance planning, risk assessments, and technical documentation 

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate: 

  • Significant experience of HNC in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Building Services (or ONC with equivalent experience) 
  • High-level technical competence in LV systems and safety 
  • Strong understanding of BS 7671, EAW Regulations, and related guidance 
  • Proven experience managing complex electrical projects 
  • Excellent communication, planning, and IT skills 
  • Functional understanding of HV (11kV) systems 
  • IOSH certification or equivalent experience/knowledge 
  • Experience with Amtech, Hevacomp, AutoCAD or similar tools 
  • Familiarity with JCT contracts or similar electrical design tools

Further information:

This role is offered on a full-time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis, with the expectation to participate in the 24-hour duty manager on-call rota for which additional payment is made for this.

We’re seeking a proactive and technically skilled Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Campus Infrastructure team. In this key role, you’ll support the Head of Engineering Services in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of mechanical systems across our diverse estate. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Manage the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems including boilers, ventilation, LEV Systems, water systems, and CHP plant 
  • Diagnose faults and failures in mechanical services and restore systems quickly to maintain business continuity 
  • Lead the development and delivery of planned maintenance and compliance strategies 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery 
  • Contribute to long-term maintenance planning, risk assessments, and technical documentation

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate: 

  • Significant experience of HNC/HND in Mechanical/Plant Maintenance or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent) 
  • Significant experience of building services engineering and maintenance management (or equivalent) 
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern mechanical systems and compliance standards 
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and planning skills 
  • Membership of CIBSE or Institute of Mechanical Engineers or equivalent experience 
  • Knowledge of BMS and CAFM systems or similar systems 
  • IOSH/NEBOSH or Legionella Control or similar certifications
