The Â鶹´«Ã½ is seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead health and food safety across its diverse Campus Services department.

Working across Cleaning, Grounds, Portering, Mail, Security, Retail and Hospitality, you will play a key role in protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, students, visitors and contractors.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the development and implementation of the Campus Services Health & Safety Strategy.
• Providing expert guidance on health and food safety legislation, policies and procedures.
• Overseeing risk assessments, safety audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Monitoring food safety compliance, including HACCP, allergen management and hygiene standards.
• Analysing safety performance data and producing reports to drive continuous improvement.
• Delivering training, supporting staff development and promoting a positive safety culture.
• Working collaboratively with University teams, contractors and external regulatory bodies.

About you

You will be a confident and approachable safety professional with strong technical knowledge and the ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels.

You will bring:

• A NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent, or a willingness to achieve this within your first six months.
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• At least two years’ experience in inspections, auditing and report writing.
• Experience of delivering training or raising safety awareness.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to interpret audit findings and performance data to deliver practical improvements.
• A collaborative approach and a commitment to developing a positive safety culture.

Experience in food safety management, including HACCP, food hygiene and allergen controls, would be highly desirable, as would experience in a large, complex or multi-site organisation. A relevant CIEH-approved degree-level qualification would also be an advantage.

About the role

You will help develop, implement and evaluate our marketing and communications strategy, ensuring our activity is insight-led, inclusive and aligned with University objectives.

Your work will enhance student engagement, support student experience goals, and promote our accommodation, ResLife, and commercial services to both internal and external audiences.

You will create and schedule engaging content across multiple channels and contribute to strategic planning by using data, feedback and market insight to drive continuous improvement. A key part of the role involves supporting the marketing and promotion of Campus Services’ commercial initiatives, working closely with hospitality, retail and other partners.

This role is central to delivering a positive, inclusive and enriching environment for our diverse community.

The ideal candidate will be an organised, creative and proactive marketing professional, educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.

About the role

As a Domestic Assistant, you’ll play an important role in providing clean, safe and welcoming accommodation for students and visitors at the Â鶹´«Ã½.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and communal areas to a high standard.
• Preparing student and guest rooms for occupancy.
• Reporting maintenance issues, accidents and incidents.
• Following health and safety procedures and using cleaning equipment and materials safely.
• Providing friendly and helpful service to students, visitors and colleagues.
• You’ll work both independently and as part of a team, with opportunities to support different accommodation areas as required.

We currently have full-time and part-time opportunities:

• 27.5 hours per week (part-time), worked on a shift basis of 9:00am–3:00pm or 10:00am–4:00pm.
• 36.5 hours per week (full-time), typical shifts include working 9:00am–5:20pm Monday to Thursday and 9:00am–5:10pm on Friday.

About you

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to providing excellent customer service.

Previous cleaning experience or a cleaning qualification is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn are also beneficial.
