We're on the lookout for a skilled Chef de Partie who’s ready to bring their passion and creativity to our kitchen.

In this role, you’ll have the chance to take charge of your own area and lead by example, all while mentoring our junior kitchen staff.  You won’t be alone - you’ll be in a team of Chef de Parties, and you’ll be supported by our Sous Chefs and Head Chef, who are here to guide and inspire you. 

Our menus are always changing and evolving, and we encourage you to share your own culinary ideas and influences with us.

Further information

Our outlets are open seven days a week, so this is a 5 over 7 contract.  This will include working early mornings, late evenings, and weekend shifts in a vibrant kitchen setting.

This is a full-time contract, working 36.5 hours per week over 40 weeks of the year, with fixed time off (that includes personal holiday allowance) in accordance with the University's annual Academic year chart:

You will embody a proactive, can-do attitude and serve as a valuable team player, adeptly supporting a range of tasks and responsibilities throughout your shift.  With a positive mindset and a flexible approach, you will navigate high-pressure situations effectively and adapt seamlessly to shifting priorities. You will demonstrate the ability to work independently, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

As a highly motivated chef, you will bring a passion for and experience in preparing high-quality food while supervising junior kitchen staff. You will be enthusiastic about suggesting and contributing to new menu and recipe ideas, and you will possess a solid understanding of food safety and health and safety related to the workplace and kitchen operations.

We are looking for a Complaints Officer to join our dedicated Campus Services team at the University of Bath.

About the role

As Complaints Officer, you will play a vital role in managing and resolving complaints from resident students and guests with professionalism, fairness, and empathy. You’ll handle the full complaints process - from investigation to resolution - ensuring every concern is addressed with care and in line with University procedures.

This is an opportunity to work closely with students and stakeholders, support continual service improvements, and help shape how complaints are handled across Campus Services. You’ll also monitor trends, lead training sessions, and contribute to a positive, high-quality service culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and respond to student, guest, and customer complaints.
  • Ensure responses are comprehensive, empathetic, and timely.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Deliver training and create communication templates.
  • Analyse complaint trends and suggest improvements.
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure consistent handling of cases.
  • Support departmental reputation by managing sensitive issues with discretion.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience handling formal complaints or conflict resolution.
  • Communicates with empathy and clarity, both in writing and in person.
  • Can manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Understands relevant policies, including equality legislation and data protection.
  • Is self-motivated, resilient, and able to work with minimal supervision.
