This is an exciting time to be joining the Faculty of Science in a role which makes a significant contribution to the running of our busy and successful Âé¶¹´«Ã½.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, and with regular interaction with the Head of Department, you will have responsibility for effective and operational management to ensure the smooth running of the Department. This rewarding role has a focus on people and resources and undertake a wide range of activities to support the delivery of the Department and Faculty’s strategic objectives.

The post-holder also plays a lead role in new initiatives at Department and Faculty level and supports the Director of Operations and Operations and Project Managers in their roles. 

About you

You will be someone with the ability to work at a strategic level but with an operational focus to support the successful running of the Department, both in business as usual and also in ensuring responsiveness to change and to act as a key channel of communication between academic staff and professional services staff, both within the Department, Faculty and across all University offices.

With a proven track record in a role in administration, preferably within a Higher Education environment, you will have strong interpersonal skills, with excellent time management, organisational and communication skills with enthusiasm for, and commitment to high quality service provision. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of financial processes as well as HR policies and procedures. The ability to think and operate autonomously but to be an excellent team player are also key.

The Faculty of Science is looking to recruit a talented and experienced Marketing Officer. If successfully appointed, you will join the Faculty’s Marketing and Web Team working closely across a diverse and interesting range of marketing and communications projects and activities to ensure the effective implementation of a Faculty-wide marketing, communications and recruitment strategy.

No two days are the same and you will work in a fast-paced and stimulating environment, managing digital campaigns, writing copy, creating content and shaping new initiatives that showcase the student experience at Bath and help to attract undergraduate and master’s students to Bath, with a particular focus on the international market. 

About you

You will also help to highlight our research internally and externally, undertake market analysis to inform new course development and help to launch new courses, or input into University-wide initiatives. 

You will be confident working with a range of stakeholders at different levels, both within the Faculty, and with colleagues in other faculties and central teams including recruitment and marketing. You will join a team that takes pride in building strong working relationships, developing new initiatives and delivering results.

Experience of working in marketing and the ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships are essential. You should also have excellent organisational skills, be a good team player and be able to successfully manage your workload, as well as stakeholder expectations.
