This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a strategically important project and then support our wider marketing activities.

About the Role

This is a dynamic time to join as we roll out recommendations from our recent Education Portfolio Review. Your initial focus will be on portfolio development work, which will involve:

 • Researching competitor courses and assessing their positioning relative to ours
 • Identifying key messaging and differentiation opportunities
 • Preparing marketing reviews and action plans to inform future activity

This work requires strong analytical skills and an understanding of marketing strategy and portfolio development. While there is a general framework to draw on, each project will have a different emphasis and may require building a bank of insights to inform our strategy. You will need to apply independent thinking and judgment on how to tackle the required analysis, with support and guidance from the Faculty’s Head of Product and Business Development. This is a fixed piece of work, working with a small group of stakeholders, and is anticipated to take a few months to deliver.

Once this phase is complete, you will transition to support the Faculty Marketing Team where you will contribute to campaigns, help with content planning, and support other key recruitment initiatives. This work is fast-paced, and you will be confident working with a range of stakeholders at different levels, both within the Faculty and with colleagues in other faculties and central teams including recruitment and marketing. You will join a team that takes pride in building strong working relationships, developing new initiatives, and delivering results.

Because of the dual nature of the role, we are looking for a strong all-round marketer who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery.

You should also have excellent organisational skills, be a good team player, and be able to successfully manage your workload as well as stakeholder expectations.

 • Formal marketing qualification (CIM or equivalent) or strong evidence of marketing training
 • Experience in marketing strategy and portfolio development, including competitor analysis and product positioning
 • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
 • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
 • Curious, proactive, and comfortable working independently

Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment, with the chance to shape our course portfolio and influence future marketing strategies.

This is a full-time, fixed-term post (for 12 months), but applications are also welcomed from candidates seeking a 0.8 FTE (29.2 hours per week) role.

<![CDATA[Bath Insights Internship (CC13241)]]> /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=CC13241 /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=CC13241 Available exclusively to Â鶹´«Ã½ students, Bath Insights provides the opportunity to gain work experience across various University departments on campus for a fixed-term period from 1 June 2026 to 24 July 2026

The format varies between departments, but all internships are on-campus or hybrid. There are no remote-only internships, as a key part of completing an internship is gaining experience of working with colleagues in a professional working environment.

Eligibility

The programme is open to most Â鶹´«Ã½ undergraduate students in years one and two. If you’re studying a distance learning course or visiting the University on an exchange, you’re not eligible to apply. You're also not able to apply if you have already completed a Bath Insights internship.

Available opportunities

You’re not able to apply to a specific internship, as this programme is designed to offer professional work experience across a range of areas, all of which will provide interesting and enriching experiences. The panel will review all applications, and shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre. If you are successful at that stage the panel will match you to the most appropriate internship.

All of the internships have been designed to give you the opportunity to gain work experience in a safe, supportive environment. Wherever you are placed, you will work on a real project, developing a range of sought-after skills and competencies, while being supported by the host department and the Careers Team. Every project will give you the chance to develop workplace skills and contribute blue skies thinking and practical solutions.

See an overview of potential projects

You will have the opportunity to indicate on your application if you have a particular interest in a Project theme.

Your skills and attributes

We know finding work experience can be a real challenge for students in years one and two as organisations often ask for evidence of prior experience and skills you may not have had a chance to develop. We also recognise that these internships are intended for students with minimal or no prior work experience, so we have designed the process to be as inclusive as possible. However, to be successful in any of these roles you will need to be someone who has:

 • Excellent written communication skills
 • Strong verbal communication skills
 • Effective planning and organising skills
 • Strong IT and digital skills; willingness to develop further IT skills
 • Experience of team working and awareness of different styles and approaches
 • A commitment to high quality customer service
 • A professional attitude and approach

Additionally, you’ll be:

 • Able to take the initiative and be proactive
 • Able to cope with competing and shifting priorities and work towards deadlines
 • Enthusiastic, committed and resourceful

Selection process

Applications will be reviewed, and a shortlist of students will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre that will run in early March 2026. You’re not able to apply to a specific internship; instead, if you are successful, you will be matched by the panel to the most appropriate internship opportunity for you.

Questions and support

Bath Insights is run by Employability and Student Success in conjunction with colleagues across the University. All interns will receive a comprehensive onboarding and induction. If you have any questions about the programme, please contact internships@bath.ac.uk

Closing Date: 01 Feb 2026

Department: Management, Specialist and Administration

Salary: Appointments at Grade 2 will receive an additional pensionable supplement to ensure a minimum hourly pay equivalent to £12.60 in line with Voluntary Living Wage.
Free accommodation is provided for the duration of the internship.

The Â鶹´«Ã½ is embarking on a transformative initiative in preventative health and care innovation. We are seeking a leader with exceptional interpersonal skills and cross-sector experience to shape and drive this new strategic priority in a role that represents a significant step-change in our ambition to enhance civic impact and contribute meaningfully to national health and care priorities. This is a unique moment. The UK Government's Life Sciences Vision and the NHS 10-year plan emphasise a profound shift towards preventative care, moving from hospital to community, analogue to digital, and treatment to prevention. The Â鶹´«Ã½ is uniquely positioned to lead in this space. Without a medical school, we have the freedom to explore and enable health and care in new ways, drawing on our breadth of expertise across public health, sport and exercise science, psychology, life sciences, engineering and management.

Your mandate is to forge strategic connections between our world-class academic researchers and external partners including NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Systems, local authorities, and health and care companies operating in a range of sectors. You will translate academic excellence into practice-based solutions that address real-world challenges and make a positive impact.

This role demands more than technical expertise. We need a proven innovation practitioner who understands value propositions and can identify market opportunities where partners recognise the commercial and social value of collaboration. You will secure commercially viable partnerships, generate sustainable income streams, and match institutional capabilities with partner needs. Success will be tangible: establishing multiple significant contractual collaborations and demonstrating substantial growth in external income over the two-year period.

 • Identifying and securing funding from NHS innovation sources, NIHR, Innovate UK, and other mechanisms
 • Translating academic research into practice-based pilots and real-world solutions
 • Building and leading a team of innovation practitioners to expand institutional capability
 • Representing the University in national forums and regional health strategy discussions
 • Developing new impact pathways and income sources including contract research, CPD, and consultancy
 • Overseeing our inaugural strategic partnership with Bath, Swindon, Wiltshire Hospitals, serving as a blueprint for future partnerships

About you:

 • Proven experience in preventative health, public health systems and/or social care transformation
 • Strong track record in service innovation and knowledge translation into practice
 • Evidence of securing partnerships and understanding commercial viability in health and care contexts
 • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and galvanise academics
 • Outstanding stakeholder management across academics, health systems, and commercial environments
 • Experience in securing funding and delivering innovation projects that generate measurable impact
 • Ability to translate between the different languages of academia, health systems, and business
 • Understanding of NHS commissioning, integrated care systems, and community care delivery

Experience as a clinician or in health and care companies is highly desirable, bringing practical credibility and insight into how solutions are developed and commercialised.

Further information:

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 24 months, with potential to evolve as the initiative develops. The role is based at the Â鶹´«Ã½ with hybrid working options. Some travel will be required to engage with partners and stakeholders across the region and nationally.

You will be supported by a Strategic Partnership Manager and empowered to recruit additional practitioner expertise as the initiative grows. This role is funded by the Vice-Chancellor's Strategic Investment Fund, demonstrating the institution's commitment to this strategic priority
