Description: Aims:
To review and evaluate the key issues in public health pharmacy.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the unit the student will be able to:
1. Critically discuss the nature of public health and how it is delivered (knowledge and understanding).
2. Analyse and reflect on your role in pharmaceutical public health and demonstrate competence to provide a public health enhanced service. (Knowledge and Understanding, personal transferable skill)
3. Use key and relevant public health tools and information sources to inform the delivery of pharmaceutical public health projects (professional practical skill)
4. Influence local policy and practice in pharmaceutical public health within the primary care sector (knowledge and understanding, professional practical skill)
5. Critically discuss the role of the pharmacy profession in demonstrating improvements in public health in key areas such as cardiovascular health, smoking cessation, substance misuse, sexual health, immunisation and antimicrobial resistance and health care acquired infections
